about
Been to West Texas? You oughta.......mystery abounds.
lyrics
I was leaving Marfa when I saw the lights
coming oe'r the mountains in the purple desert night
desire burned within me in answer to the sight,
so I pulled on over on highway 99.
The lights they kept on coming, a message from the sky
Indians and pilgrims like ghostly ships pass by.
No-one seems to know them these desert shooting stars
so I pulled on over and watched them in my car.
What are these lights?
Balmorhea won't say.
What are these lights?
Chisos don't know…..
Heading back to Texas to see lights of Marfa
going back where I belong to see the Marfa Lights.
I left out of Marfa, headed to the east,
following a star map looking for the King.
the road was long and empty, a sandy soul surprise,
so I pulled on my ray-bans and headed to the right.
Left in contemplation of things that I had seen,
motor car elation paintings of the queen
Lights and mighty cactus all bowing to the Son,
so I kept on going down highway Mazatlan.
What are these lights? Balmorhea won't say. Heading back to Texas to see lights of Marfa
What are these lights? Chisos don't know. Heading back to Texas to see lights of Marfa
